What Do You Have?

Trusting God in the Waiting

Hey friends,

This week has been a whirlwind, hasn’t it? We’re officially past the holidays, back in the rhythm of life, and wow—it’s happening. I thought I was ready, but honestly? I wasn’t.

This morning was rough. My brain felt like it was stuck in a thick fog, and I couldn’t shake it. And then, in a way that only God can, He gave me an answer through the most unexpected thing—ChatGPT being down. Yep, even AI had a “server down” moment, and it was the exact visual I needed.

I’ve been asking God, “Do I really need this? Am I relying too much on stimulation, on external things, instead of You?” And His answer was clear: I can still rely on Him while also using the tools He’s given me. My brain works better with the right support, and that’s okay.

But that question—What do you have?—keeps coming up.

Key Takeaways

God often asks, "What do you have?" – Just like the widow in 2 Kings, sometimes the miracle starts with recognizing what’s already in your hands.

Waiting can feel uncomfortable, but it has a purpose. – When God says be still, it’s not punishment; it’s preparation. He is always working behind the scenes.

Don’t try to manipulate the miracle. – We can’t rush God’s timing by forcing things to happen. True faith means surrendering control and trusting His process.

God’s promises are yes and amen. – Even when things look impossible, He is faithful. If He has spoken it over you, He will bring it to pass.

Trust the One leading you. – Instead of trying to figure it all out, keep your forehead to His shoulder blades and let Him guide you step by step.

The Widow, the Oil, and the Question That Changes Everything

Earlier this week, I was reflecting on 2 Kings, where a widow comes to Elisha in desperation. She’s about to lose everything—her husband is gone, her debt is overwhelming, and her sons are about to be sold into slavery. She needs a miracle.

And Elisha’s response? He doesn’t just swoop in to fix it. He asks, What do you have?

She has just a small jar of oil. But with God’s power, that little bit multiplies beyond what she could have imagined.

That question—What do you have?—is one that God has been pressing on me. Sometimes we sit in a place of stuckness, waiting for a miracle, but the first step is recognizing what’s already in our hands.

I have the ability to wake up early and press the “live” button. I have the ability to share my story. I have the ability to trust Him, even when things feel uncertain.

The Waiting Room: When God Says “Be Still”

But here’s the other side of this: Sometimes, God’s answer isn’t to take action. Sometimes, He says, Be still.

And let’s be real—that’s uncomfortable.

Waiting feels like sitting in an emergency room, watching others get called in, wondering when it will be your turn. You see movement happening for others, but it feels like nothing is changing for you.

But just because we don’t see movement doesn’t mean God isn’t working. There are things shifting in the background that we can’t comprehend yet. And sometimes, the greatest sacrifice isn’t doing more—it’s surrendering control and choosing to trust.

Are You Trying to Manipulate the Miracle?

This one hit me hard. How many times do we throw everything we have at a situation, hoping that if we do enough, God will move faster?

God’s timing isn’t something we can force. And when we try to manipulate the outcome, we take our eyes off the One who is leading us.

So instead of frantically trying to figure out the next step, what if we just put our forehead to His shoulder blades and let Him guide us? What if we walked in obedience, even when we don’t understand where He’s taking us?

His Promises Are Yes and Amen

Debt-free farming. A dream that, on paper, looks impossible in 2025. Cotton prices are lower than they were during the Great Depression. The economy isn’t exactly in our favor.

But God.

I don’t need to know how. I just need to trust the One who gave me the vision.

And I know some of you are holding onto promises that feel out of reach right now. Maybe you’re waiting for healing, breakthrough, restoration, or clarity. Maybe you feel stuck in the waiting room, wondering when your turn will come.

But friends—He is faithful. His timing is perfect. And if He has spoken it over you, it will come to pass.

So today, I challenge you:

What do you have? Ask Him how He wants to use it.
Are you in a waiting season? Trust that He is working behind the scenes.
Are you trying to manipulate the miracle? Surrender and let Him lead.

He’s got this. And He’s got you.

Love you all. See you tomorrow. 💛
