Healing, growth, and obedience often begin with small, imperfect steps. In this journey, God doesn’t ask us to have everything figured out—He simply asks us to trust Him with what we already have. Today, I want to explore how we can take what’s in our house, offer it to God, and watch Him multiply it beyond what we could imagine.
5 Key Takeaways
God multiplies what you already have—start with what’s in your hands.
Self-compassion is key to overcoming challenges and thriving.
Small acts of obedience can lead to extraordinary blessings.
Worship looks different for everyone—offer what God has called you to do.
Trust God’s guidance, take the first step, and let Him handle the outcome.
Rediscovering Purpose in the Everyday
After stepping back from my routines, I found myself feeling disconnected. But yesterday, when I pressed live on my podcast, something clicked. I was reminded of why I started the Soul Sister Accelerator in the first place: it wasn’t about creating something from scratch—it was about repurposing what was already in motion.
Sometimes, we forget that God doesn’t ask us to reinvent ourselves. He simply calls us to use what’s already in our hands.
Learning to Love Ourselves as We Are
For years, I struggled with ADHD and executive function disorder, often shaming myself for not being able to function like others. But this diagnosis helped me understand how God created me uniquely. It wasn’t an excuse—it was a gateway to self-compassion and growth.
Understanding our struggles isn’t about making them our identity; it’s about creating space for ourselves and others to thrive.
The Power of Small Jars of Oil
In 2 Kings 4:1–7, we see the story of a widow who thought she had nothing to give—just a small jar of oil. But when she obeyed Elisha’s instructions and poured the oil, God multiplied it until every jar was full.
Like the widow, we often feel like we don’t have enough. But God sees our small offerings and uses them to create abundance. What’s your small jar of oil? For me, it’s my voice and my story.
Worship Looks Different for Everyone
Not everyone’s act of worship looks the same. I saw a video recently of a woman painting a window frame as a Christian song played, captioned: “This is worship too.” It reminded me that whatever God calls us to do—whether speaking, creating, or serving—it can be an act of worship when done in obedience and love.
Your worship might look like raising your children, writing, creating art, or even showing up to work faithfully. Whatever it is, trust that God can use it for His glory.
Obedience Brings Blessings
One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is that obedience, even in small things, can unlock blessings—not just for us but for others. The boy with five loaves and two fish didn’t hesitate to give what he had, and Jesus multiplied it to feed thousands (John 6:1–14).
God doesn’t ask us to understand the “how.” He just asks us to say “yes” and trust Him to handle the rest.
Final Thoughts: What’s in Your House?
Today, I want to challenge you to look at what’s already in your house—what’s in your heart, your hands, and your life. What are the small things you’ve overlooked that God might want to use?
You don’t have to start from scratch. You just have to offer it. As Psalm 32:8–9 reminds us, God promises to guide us gently and lovingly if we let Him.
So, take the step. Pour your oil. Share your story. You might just be the answer to someone else’s prayer.
